SABATON are proud to announce another musical collaboration with the Finnish APOCALYPTICA, after the success of “Fields of Verdun”. With the release of the single “Angels Calling”, SABATON offers a taste of what we can expect from the European tour.
Those attending the upcoming concerts will experience a truly unique concert, with the SABATON that will be joined on stage by the APOCALYPTICA to perform some rearranged songs, including this one.
“‘ Angels Calling »is the first song written on the subject of the First World War for the 2006 album‘ Attero Dominatus ’and with Apocalyptica we gave it a new life. The song is again present in our setlist for the subject matter, linked to the last album, and at the request of the fans. Arrangements were made in August when Apocalyptica visited our hometown of Falun to play at the Sabaton Open Air festival. The song was recorded at the Black Lounge studios by Jonas Kjellgren, while the Apocalyptica parts were later recorded in Finland. Richard Erixon, long-time producer of our videos, has captured the best moments of rehearsals in Falun and edited them, getting a video for the song. With this tour we want to offer something never realized before. Since I attended the Apocalyptica concert in Madrid a few years ago, I wanted to play with them … and now here we are with the best show we’ve never done, “says Pär Sundström.
“Angels Calling” is released exclusively on YouTube and will be available on digital platforms on 17 January 2020.
