Official Press Release from Elevate Records Website
Neverdream formed in 2004 but their genesis is in the 90s where under the stages of the big groups of that fantastic decade (Dream Theater Fates Warning Metallica Stratovarius Symphony x Blind Guardian etc etc) a visceral love is born for a certain type of technical and melodic sound, love that can only be transformed into art.
Once the previous groups of belonging have been dissolved, the Neverdream come to life and with it their music. On April 2005 their first demo “Rain of sorrow” (which contains the homonymous ballad), in the meantime due to musical differences the bassist Alessandro Marinelli leaves the group that chooses Federico Criscimanni to replace him.
The demo despite a certain immaturity receives excellent reviews, it is the definitive push towards the composition of the first full length “Chemical Faiht” of 2006.
Meanwhile another member has joined the group and is Fabrizio Dottori sax programming and keyboards, the sax grafting gives a more personal imprint to the pieces making the epic gothic sounds of the group much more disturbing and effective.
The concept has a great critical success that leads the group to play in Berlin in 2006, thanks also to the precious collaboration of the friend Harry of Heavy Metal Heaven.
In 2007 the Neverdream begin to work on the second album and is always a concept, which according to the band is the only type of composition possible to give voice to a story, this time we go deeply into a tragedy that has indelibly marked the twentieth century that of Chernobyl.
The album, “Souls April 1986”, came out in 2008 and is heavier more evil than its predecessor, but above all much more identifying than a sound that is gradually becoming more mature and personal. sweet melodies are contrasted with instrumental acid inserts like vitriol, the leap in quality compared to the first album is enormous.
The record is recorded in the “Contro Fase studio” while the production and mixing are taken care of by Achim Koheler true vate of the world metal that manages to give a touch of magic to the whole work.
Songs such as “Waterfall” and “Souls” break through the 10-minute roof, giving truly intense moments and a sound that is never-hundred-percent never-ending.
Critics enthusiastically welcome the album, the reviews go beyond the most optimistic expectations of the 6 boys and repay the many sacrifices and the sweat poured over the years.
The mini tour that follows (still in Germany and Italy) gives proof of how much the group has improved and grown, so much so that in live shows the pieces perform better than in the studio.
It is months of excitement that we begin to gather ideas for the new album but in the meantime we sign the first recording contract with the German “Twilight Records”, it seems that the Teutonic land really brings good to ours.
The group never stops and works hard for 12 months on the composition of the new pieces. This time we talk about Africa and the abuses suffered by this great nation, the centuries-old injustices perpetrated against African peoples, civil wars, child soldiers, slavery, the great Mandela, and in short, an album that oozes ideas and music where the second is a natural extension of the former and everything comes to life in a kaleidoscope of vivid and real emotions and colors.
The record, entitled “SAID”, is recorded in the band’s studio and Achim Koheler is still involved in mixing and production.
It is September 2010 and the album is once again welcomed by excellent reviews.
The sound starts from the ideas of “Souls” but expands them, matures them and, fundamentally, it sounds more and more Neverdream between gothic and progressive epic in a well mixed and persuasive cauldron.
Finally, the prog suite, “The long walk to freedom”, of 19 minutes real test of strength of a group that amazes everyone but above all astonishes itself.
The album takes the boys to play in Spanga (Madrid Valencia), but above all it will bring them, at the end of March 2011, to act as a shoulder for Vanden Plas.
After three years of gestation in 2014 their fourth album The Circle comes to life accompanied by a book written by the author Maria Teresa Valle, the concept speaks of strange murders and serial killers in a compelling story that is revealed with a surprise ending .
Once again criticism rewards Nevedream’s work with very enthusiastic reviews and very high marks.
To promote the album, a double album, they will still support Vanden Plas and then Fates Warning and Goran Edman (former singer of Malmsteen).
The disc was put online for free on the group’s website after the consensual termination of the contract with Twilight.
In July 2015, the group was forced to change the whole rhythm session and called the great Luca Urbinati (ex Zen) and the young Marco Baldassarra (ex Mantik) behind the skins.
After some live shows with the new line-up, the group enters the studio to record the new album, Figli dell’Aba, a totally Italian concept that deals with the problem of racism and slavery.
The album was completed in September 2019.
